News Letter Autum 2016

Dear Club Member,

Another quiet year for FRC without Pete’s Race (Road Race) and lots of interruptions during The Ten Series due to road works.

We did hold a successful Open Ten event, thanks to Mark Wilkinson and everyone that helped. This saw a good standard of competitors on the Fairburn Course, all testing early season form.

Mark Mills had a brilliant finish in the Euro Champs triathlon showing his strength in other disciplines as well as his cycling ability. Well done Mark.

We also had a successful cycling touring trip to see The Tour of Flanders and the Bars of the region. Thanks given to Condor Tours (Fred Stead) and his map reading abilities!

The Time Trial Series had a very strong, although interrupted year again with riders from all over the district attending. I would like to thank Tracy Proud, Daz McArdle, Paul Craven, Mike Brownlow and everyone else that have helped in any way for their commitment and efforts.

We have had the Le Tour de Yorkshire in the region again, which was a success and many had good days out as spectators, even if the TV coverage disappeared as the race entered Pontefract.

Also the ladies Breeze Rides continues to be very popular thanks to Mrs Proud keeping the rides going.

Welcome to any new members. As you have gathered by now we have a “laid back” approach to the Club Scene. We only have two Newsletters per year. All current information is available on the website, through Kendell Cycles or now Twitter on @Fevroadclub.

I will not bombard you through the online social networks, but equally feel free to contact via the email link if you wish, or just ring!
