Prize Presentation Details

Featherstone Road Club Annual Dinner and Presentation Evening for the 2016 Season

The Dinner and Presentation will be held on Saturday 21st January 2016 at The Kyte Hotel, Darrington. I and FRC welcome members new and old.

The price will be subsidised to £12 per person, with three courses. If anyone has any specific needs I will endeavour to cater for them.

I ask for replies ASAP and no later than 8th January (AGM) if possible. (Some memberships have lapsed and still need renewing?)

Please find enclosed a menu, which I hope will be self-explanatory. If you complete your selections and return it to me along with the appropriate monies and any seating requests, I will try to accommodate wherever possible. This includes any specific dietary needs.

I also need your vote, for the Club person of the year. This will be awarded along with all other trophies. I ask, if you are a previous winner of any competition and have a trophy in your possession please could these be returned to Kendell Cycles ASAP. No later than Saturday 3rd December 2016, in a clean polished condition. This is because of the Christmas period and date of Dinner and will enable the engraving for new prize winners.

I still haven’t received much evidence of points from you guys that may be eligible for trophies? Points mean consideration for prizes!!

The Festive 10 and AGM will be held on Sunday 8th January 2017. The AGM will then be held at The Carleton Grange Club, Carleton Road, Pontefract at 1pm. This is the large building next to the observatory. There is ample parking and safe stowage for cycles and a bar! All welcome.

The Festive 10 will be on the Fairburn course as last year and the Holly Run on the 18th December 9.30am usual place. 12pm “The Cross Keys” Old Snydale.

White Onion & Celeriac Soup

Served with a crusty roll

Ham Hock Terrine

Served with a spiced apple chutney & toasted brioche


Atlantic Prawn Cocktail

Served on an iceberg lettuce salad with cucumber, cherry tomatoes & lemon.

Topped with a spiced marie rose sauce.



Roast Beef

With fondant potato, Yorkshire pudding, sticky red cabbage & stuffing.

Finished with rich gravy.

Pork Fillet

Served on creamed savoy cabbage with fondant potato, stuffing & a cider cream sauce


Herb Crusted Salmon

Served with fondant potato, sautéed kale & samphire – with a dill & Atlantic prawn sauce

Mushroom Wellington

Portobello mushrooms, spinach, onions & goats cheese – topped with a tomato sauce & baked in a puff pastry case.

Served with fondant potato & spiced tomato sauce






Traditional Sherry Trifle

Sticky Toffee Pudding

Served with toffee sauce and custard

Exotic Fruit Cocktail

Served in a brandy snap basket with berry coulis
