23/07/2012 Event 12 Pollington Handicap Series

Sorry for the competitors 20 to 30 for the late results.

Had just a few problems at the start.1st was rider 19 (P Stirk) who took a bad fall 5m out from the start. Unable to determine what happened but looked like a chain slip. Pete took a hard fall to his right side and really bashed his head. Fortunately he was wearing a helmet. This confirms my thoughts that helmets should be compulsory for all events.

40 second after rider 14 returns early and advises she found a rider at the side of the road who appeared to have had a heart attack. A passing motorist also pulled up advised us he was ill and would not accept assistance. People dispatched. Later found out it was Ian Iveson from South Elmsall who was not competing. Best wishes to Ian and hope he gets a check up with the medics. On Ian's behalf thanks to all that assisted him.

All this happening messed up the time of departure for 10 riders but spotted and corrected. Thanks to all that assisted and a special thanks to Barry Dawson and son, down from their home in Scotland for giving a hand. Hoping that they might come out with the camera on night eh!

Only two more events to count for the Championship so don't miss out.

Highlight of the evening was K Dawson from Doncaster Wheelers posting a 16.40 min time. Understand this may be an evening record time?
