22/04/2013 Event 2 Pollington Handicap Series

Will it ever get warmer??. Another cold windy night and as the evening got underway the wind seamed to get worse. Thanks to all who marshaled on the evening. A special thanks to the South Elmsall members for turning out. With one event under the belt the "team" found it easier. It was noted how ever that Mr McKenna was advising Tracy how to operate her phone?. Fortunately for all she did not listen so all went well. Julie Smithies (Seacroft) was spotter for me at the finish. J Smith (FRC) I understand has purchased a new chain so lets hope he looks after as well as the one that broke last week. Rumour has it the chain that snapped last week was from a faulty batch made in 1947!.

I would like to wish a big GOOD LUCK to Les Pattison (64) from South Elmsall who stets off on his solo Lands End to John O Groats ride on Saturday in aid of Macmillan Nurses. He has been planning the event for years and is hoping to complete it in 18 days. Traveling on his own by train to start, staying in B&B and then back by train.

Next week I intend to have a donation bucket for his nominated cause so please bring along some change and show you appreciation as he has marshaled your course for years!!!!!!!!
