Well that's it over for this year. Last run completed calculations made and awards allocated.
What a season. At the start one of our local riders Simon Tupling advised that the Highways department intended to replace the surface on part of the course in April. On contacting them it appeared that works might be completed prior to our season.
No such luck. Whilst programmed there was disagreement on pricing and this caused a delay meaning it impacted on our season. So the course had to be revised by turning in Pollington and then extending the finish to near Pollington school. This was confusing for some, some did not listen and some just did there own thing!.
One first timer ended up near Snaith?. To the rescue was Les Pattinson (
Following completion of works all exited about using the "new road" but the heavens opened and a driver struck out by knocking Jimmy Harris off. I am happy to see that Jimmy is making recovery. The condition for the event where horrendous and at the finish we could hardly see the numbers with the windscreen wipers ON.
So lots of reports and phone calls and solicitors speak.
So some highs with lots of PB's and some lows with accidents.
Yorkshire shone for the Tour and I think every one who visited really enjoyed the weekend, wasn't it great!.
Only four riders this week from Featherstone and only 9 people at the presentation. I was very disappointed at the turn out. Only 2 out of 7 awards could be presented. Fortunately other non members came along to see the results so were invited to have a nosh as I had expected more members to be there.
Thanks again to Tracy Proud, Paul Craven, Norma and Ken Scott, Les Pattinson and all who have come along to marshal this years events. Without these people the event would not have run.
Hope you have all are having or had a great season.
Mike
